TV vs Display

There are several things to consider when choosing what to view the Z-TV system with. TVs come with a built in RF Tuner with a coaxial connector. The RF Tuner with a coaxial connector is required in order to view the transmitted video from the Z-TV system. Displays do not come with built in RF Tuners and would require an externally mounted set-top box (STB) with a coaxial connector. Below is some more information regarding the differences between TVs and Displays.

Built-in Tuner

TV: Includes a built-in tuner with coaxial connector capable of receiving RF channels (ATSC, QAM etc.,)

Display: Does not include RF tuners. They are designed to receive video signals from computers or media players. If these are being used for RF distribution, they will need a set-top box (STB) to convert RF signals into an HDMI video.

Connectivity

TV: Often feature HDMI and USB-A connections for media devices. Commercial TVs also offer RJ-45 connectors.

Display: Often feature HDMI, VGA, USB-A and RJ-45

Usage & Durability

TV: Designed for shorter 8-10 hours of daily operation.

Display: Designed for 12-24 hours of daily operation.
