Z-Distribution FBR Front Panel LEDs
Front panel LEDs offer real-time diagnostics and are one of the simplest tools for verifying system status during installation or trouble shooting.
For a coax unit, on initial power up all four LEDs are on and this indicates the unit is in Native mode and is deciding whether to become a Main or Cascade unit depending on the connected inputs. All fiber units are locked to Main mode from factory. Contact Z-Band technical support to override the input type.
Master / Main Mode LED (First LED) - Turns on when when a signal is connected to CATV in Port or Fiber IN port, LED is Red.
Slave / Cascade Mode LED (Second LED) - LED is Green once the unit has locked to a pilot tone signal from the Main unit.
Power Status LED (Third LED) - LED is Green if power is present and the system is stable. If this LED is Amber/ Blinking then it indicates a failure on one of the voltage rails.
Pilot Tone Indicator (Fourth LED) - LED is Amber if the pilot tone is active and LED is Green if pilot tone is turned off. For a cascade unit, the amber LED will blink for 10 minutes before locking itself based on the distance calculation between itself and the main unit. After 10 minutes, the amber light will not longer blink and will remain solid green. Note: If power is disrupted, the
unit will return to native state.
