LED Status Lights on UNV series of Z-Balun products
The LED status lights on the UNV Series of Z-Baluns are an indication of the signal measurement between the Z-Distribution unit and the Z-Balun device, as calculated by the Z-Balun itself. In a perfect environment, the lights also correlate to the approximate physical distance between the Z-Distribution Unit and the UNV Z-Balun.
Below is a table which lists the five different combination of LED patterns and their corresponding distances:
LED INDICATOR | DISTANCE / CABLE LENGTH |
RED | < 20 meters |
ORANGE | >= 20 meters and < 40 meters |
GREEN | >= 40 meters and < 60 meters |
RED and GREEN | >= 60 meters and < 80 meters
|
ORANGE and GREEN | >= 80 meters |
In addition to RED, ORANGE and GREEN LEDs there is also a BLUE LED. If the BLUE LED is ON then the UNV Z-balun is operating in a manual mode and the distance calculation on the balun has been overwritten by the user. Please refer to
this article if you want to learn about the manual mode of operation on the UNV balun.
