LED Status Lights on Z-Balun Products
The LED status lights on the Z-Baluns are an indication of the signal measurement between the Z-Distribution unit and the Z-Balun device, as calculated by the Z-Balun itself. In a perfect environment, the lights also correlate to the physical distance between the Z-Distribution Unit and the Z-Balun (See Chart Below). A RED LED on the Z-Balun indicates that the signal coming into the Z-Balun is strong and the balun device is probably a short distance from the Z-Distribution unit. A GREEN LED indicates that there is a significant loss of signal and suggests the balun device is at a much greater distance from the Z-Distribution unit. There are two other LEDs (AMBER and YELLOW), which indicate the intermediate distances.
Below is a table which lists the four LEDs and their corresponding calculated distances for legacy Z-Band baluns:
| LED INDICATOR | DISTANCE / CABLE LENGTH |
| Red | < 35 meters |
| Amber | >= 35 meters and < 65 meters |
| Yellow | >= 65 meters and < 80 meters |
| Green | >=80 meters |
