Push Buttons on the back of Z-Distribution ZHC

Push Buttons on the back of Z-Distribution ZHC

There are two recessed push buttons located in the back of the Z-Distribution ZHC in-between the Management RJ45 port and the LED bank. These buttons are labeled A and B. The functionality of each of the buttons is explained below.

PUSH BUTTON - A
The push button labeled A is used to reset the NIC for the Management port. Pressing the button will instantly reset the NIC card.

PUSH BUTTON - B
This is an override button and its functionality is dependent on whether the unit is in MAIN mode or in a SATELLITE mode. This button needs to be pressed for a duration of at-least 5 seconds for it to override the unit's settings.  You can determine the state/mode of the unit by looking at the LED's located on the FRONT of the Distribution ZHC.  See LED legend below.

  1. M = Main Red LED, On when unit is in Main Mode
  2. S = Satellite Yellow LED, On when unit is in Satellite Mode
  3. P = Power Green LED, flashes when unit is detecting issues with power supply, solid when on

If the Z-Distribution unit is in MAIN mode
  1. The push button B is used to toggle the MAIN unit's 240MHz pilot tone ON/OFF
If the Z-Distribution unit is in SATELLITE mode
  1. The push button B is used to reset a distance locked SATELLITE unit into native mode.
  2. This button is to be only used when you are making any of the changes below
    1. Assign a distance locked SATELLITE unit as a MAIN unit
    2. Assign a distance locked SATELLITE unit to a different MAIN unit
    3. Moving a distance locked SATELLITE unit to a different floor or a different closet.
  3. When using this button for a SATELLITE unit, make sure to unplug the RF coax feed from the CATV/CASC IN port.
